Autumn 2024
Vernacular architecture refers to the traditional building styles and techniques that are characteristic of a particular region or culture. It is often contrasted with more formal, academic or high-style architecture, and is typically created using locally available materials and construction methods.
It is shaped by a variety of factors, including local climate, geography, and culture. It often reflects the values, beliefs, and lifestyles of the people who create it, and can vary widely from place to place.

Interview (audio)

Julie Marthe Hoffmann
Interview (audiovisuel)
Julie is a luxembourgish freelance architect and the project holder of WAA (Wat ass Architektur?), an architectural mediation project supported by Œuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte. She is also co-founder and editor of WIA (What is Architecture?) and not afraid of asking questions: even twice.
